Forward Journey is a place of growth, creativity, and friendship—not just for our attendees but everyone within our organization.
Grow as a professional
Forward Journey views each employee as a unique individual. We seek to foster your skills and interests, enhancing your work experience while benefiting our agency. Team building is an integral part of our corporate culture as we continually look for ways to boost confidence and morale to create a “work family.”
Each year, we close our locations for four in-service training days focused on new topics that address the challenges of serving this unique population. Forward Journey ensures that direct care providers are completely comfortable carrying out their responsibilities, so we provide the training and information needed to make this happen.
Ongoing education offered through in-service training includes seizure management, safe feeding, MOVE® Basic Provider certification, fire drill procedures, universal precautions, lift training, fall precautions, medication administration, and wheelchair safety.
We strive to reward passionate staff members with advancement opportunities within our organization, especially as we continue to grow throughout Delaware.

Feel appreciated for all you do
There’s not a day that goes by when you won’t feel appreciated for the work you do. The administrative staff, parents, the board, and your coworkers will see you as an integral part of the team.
During Direct Support Professionals Week, we try to recognize our hardworking staff. We provide breakfast and lunch, funded by the Board and parent donations. The Academy of Massage & Bodywork offers free massages. Plus, we host fun team-building games throughout the week, distributing gift cards to the winners.
