Cindy spent 39 of her 45 years in employment as an Information Technology (IT) professional. She began her career as a secretary at the DuPont Company before transitioning to the IT field. Her time at DuPont concluded 20 years after she was outsourced to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) in 1997. For several years, she continued to manage the DuPont account while also working on a government project and a project for a mid-sized company. Cindy retired from CSC in 2010.
After her retirement, Cindy led the partnership in launching a fast-casual chain restaurant in Millsboro, DE. The start-up involved ordering and receiving all the necessary equipment, as well as establishing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. She managed the business for over five years before selling it, and then took charge of shutting it down in 2016.
Cindy has three children, the oldest of whom, a son, has multiple severe disabilities. Cindy was on the Board of C.E.R.T.S., Inc. from 2004 to 2012. During her tenure on the Board, the AAC was launched, and she held the positions of Vice President and Treasurer. She has been on the fundraising committee both during her time on the Board and after rolling off. She organized the annual “Run for Their Future” 5K run/walk for five years and played a key role in the pig roast events that were held several times.
